I’m in a real live book!

Well, not ME, exactly. My poems! Which is MUCH better!

If there’s one thing a writer wants with all of their little writing heart, it’s to be PUBLISHED…newspapers, magazines, journals, books, online….but the very bestest thing of all is a BOOK (the more books the better).

And I’m (the poems) are in THIS one!

A Tarnished Silver Locket

Dining in Sin

Husband , You Sleep

Press Release. A lovely write up.

The Poetic Bond, Volume X, (an anthology), compiled by Trevor Maynard, Willow Tree Books, 2020.

The poets and poems in this edition are nothing to sneeze at. These are the Professional’s PROFESSIONALS, so I am very HONORED to be listed among THEM. I’ve read many of their pieces in the professional LinkedIn Poets group I was in with them. These people are TALENTED writers, and KNOW their craft. This group features members who are established in the industry: writers, poets, editors, publishers.

This impressive collection is ranked #114 in the Poetry section on Amazon. Not bad!

Pick up a copy for $14.99 on Amazon. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

And if you do, please don’t forget to leave a review. Reviews are the lifeblood of books in today’s publishing scene.

Breathing Fire

If I have to draw just one more freaking micro-sized dragon scale, Ím going to croak. This is taking waaaaayyyyyy ttttoooooooo lllloooonnnnnggggggg.

I did his neck, went down, then worked on his behind, and when I was about to lose my mind, I moved onto his tail, but when I eyeballed all the real estate I still had to fill, I gave up.

Alex, my astute 19-year-old, wryly observed: “You know, you could have just drawn them larger.”

(See that rather plump dragon up there sitting on that hefty book pile? That would be my Alex.😃)

A black-orange stripey head

Is peeking out at me

From that tiger lily –

What do you think I see?

Each lovely curly petal

Is a tuft of hair

Framing a little face

From which he does stare.

A cheerful tiny tiger

Perched upon a stem –

It’s not just one little fella –

It’s a whole patch of them!

Bored, I was foofing around on the internet and typed in the title of my book just to see what it might pull up, and THIS popped up!

I wasn’t aware that it would be up this early. I was under the impression it would be much closer to the ebook release date of July 2, 2019.

I’m not complaining! 😀

Tooty-Toot, Maisy!

Sherry West, SherryWestArt, 2019

When our daughter was small, we read her the Maisy the mouse books by Lucy Cousins.

In one of them, Maisy has a train.

Somewhere in the text it reads, “Tooty-toot, Maisy!” whenever the train blows it’s whistle.

So now, whenever someone is gassy, we all yell “Tooty-Toot, Maisy!”

Gabriel, a very typical seven-year-old boy, who just finished a bowl of Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, is sitting in the large Lazy-boy with his little brother Rainier.

From way over there, I heard the very distinct sounds that send little boys (and their siblings) into gales of laughter.

I told him, “I heard that!”

Gabriel then said, “Imagine if You made a sound like that!”
